The C21 Internship Program

Develop the mindset and skills employers want.

The Internship Program

This progressive internship program offers students the opportunity to gain real work experience in various roles across three levels, each with distinct learning goals and responsibilities.

INTERN I:

You will develop a strong understanding of mission mindset through gesture project method training. You will support Internship Bootcamp, learning program operations and contributing to its continuous development. In addition to day-to-day programmatic responsibilities, you are challenged to think about and plan for all aspects of a bootcamp participant’s experience.

You will move through work in program support, participant experience, and eventually independently driven projects, continuously practicing mission mindset to solve problems.

*Training at this level extends over two quarters, with a focus on bootcamp support in the first, and individual project work in the second.

Available Positions: Bootcamp Intern; Student Experience Intern

INTERN II:

You will specialize in a specific area of gesture work, moving beyond structured programs to independently identify issues impeding gesture growth and create, implement, and manage solutions accordingly. You have a solid grasp of how gesture people and projects are connected, so that you may embrace full ownership of across program management, branding and marketing, human resources, technical and administrative operations, and other areas.

Available Positions: Bootcamp Lead; External Relations Lead; Knowledge Base Lead; Externship Lead

INTERN III:

Having held intern positions at each level, you have developed cultural and historical knowledge around gesture standards and goals. You will liaise between management and other interns, advise on best practices, areas of potential growth, and inefficiencies within the intern program. As a senior intern, you will guide other interns, providing oversight, leadership, and insight on work processes and overall alignment with the gesture mission.

Available Positions: People and Operations Coordinator

NUTS & BOLTS:

  • Positions are quarter-long assignments.
  • Interns work up to 10 hours per week.
  • Paid positions begin at Level II.
  • Promotion is determined during performance evaluations toward the end of each quarter.

About the Program

Interns engage deeply around their professional goals to cultivate stories, experience, and skills around being someone other people want to work with.

Interns identify and own individual projects ranging from marketing and outreach, to data resource and management, to program operations, to communications, and everything in between. They come away with practice in real world collaboration, problem-solving, and mission mindset, ready to contribute and produce value in any field or work environment.

ELIGIBILITY: Interested students must complete internship bootcamp.

Internship Bootcamp

The Internship Bootcamp is a 3-week, immersive training program to develop your professional skills in a real-world setting. As part of your training you will be onboarded with a cohort of intern trainees into gesture--our own C21 training startup--where you will have a manager, work responsibilities, and constant feedback and evaluation. You’ll learn how to use your first few weeks at an internship to prove you are a more than a student. You’ll develop the skills employers want and learn how to establish a reputation as a capable, reliable professional.

*Trainees who successfully complete bootcamp are invited to apply to the internship.
