The C21 externships are short-term career development programs designed specifically for the needs of majors in the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. They are not academic in content, but are focused on how liberal arts majors can begin to engage in professional practice to prepare for life after graduation. After initial training by C21 staff, students in the C21 externships will engage with professionals in small-group mentoring meetings to work through the fundamentals of early career development and clarify what it takes for students to transition from academic training to professional life in any field and with any type of organization.
